What does "agent-native" mean?

Building software development workflows where AI agents are first-class participants — not just autocomplete. That means agent harnesses (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor), MCP servers as the primary integration surface, and an SDLC-to-AI-DLC transformation: moving from human-led delivery to the AI-Driven Development Life Cycle (Inception → Construction → Operations) where AI initiates work and humans validate.

What's the difference between an MCP server and an API?

MCP — the Model Context Protocol — is the industry standard for connecting AI agents to tools, data, and services. Created by Anthropic and donated to the Linux Foundation's Agentic AI Foundation in late 2025, it's now adopted by every major AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, AWS) and sits alongside complementary protocols like Google's A2A (agent-to-agent) and IBM's ACP (Agent Communication Protocol). An API is the underlying capability; an MCP server is the agent-shaped wrapper that lets any compliant agent discover and call it.
